How are working days until Christmas calculated?
The default calculation counts Monday through Friday from tomorrow through December 24. Christmas Day itself is not counted as a working day. Add any local public holidays, annual leave, or company closure dates to make the estimate fit your schedule.
Working days are not universal
Some workplaces operate on weekends, some countries use different weekly schedules, and public holidays vary. For that reason, this tool is a planning calculator rather than a statement of official business days for every location.
Make the working-day result match your own calendar
Start with the Monday-to-Friday total, then add each holiday, leave day or company closure that falls within the remaining period. The range begins tomorrow and ends on December 24. Today and December 25 are excluded. A date already on a Saturday or Sunday cannot reduce the result again because it was never counted.
Adding the same valid exclusion twice removes just one day. Past dates and dates outside the current Christmas preparation period do not reduce the total. Your exclusions are remembered in this browser when storage is available; clearing browsing data or changing devices can remove them.
A worked example
From Friday, December 18, 2026, the remaining Monday-to-Friday dates before Christmas are December 21, 22, 23 and 24: four days. Excluding annual leave on December 23 reduces the count to three. Excluding Saturday, December 19 would make no difference.
Use this method for a personal task queue, but check the official calendar for deadlines set by an employer, school, bank or public service. Some deadlines depend on office hours, processing times or a specific local holiday rule that a simple date count cannot capture.
Estimate workload without filling every day
List the tasks that must be completed before you stop work, then mark those waiting on another person. Schedule dependent tasks first and reserve time for replies and revisions. If three working days remain, a task needing two days of work and two days of review will not fit simply because its active work is short.
The calculator does not support every shift pattern. If you work weekends or have a different weekly schedule, use the individual weekday counts and your rota. For household preparations, weekends remaining may be more useful.
