How Many Sundays Until Christmas?

How the Sunday count includes dates

This page counts Sundays after today up to and including December 25. Today is excluded even when it is a Sunday. Christmas Day is included only if it falls on a Sunday and is still a future date. The result is a count of matching dates, not the number of complete seven-day weeks.

The remaining-date table lets you check each entry instead of relying on a total alone. For example, from December 18, 2026, the final seven dates through Christmas contain one of each weekday. An existing commitment can make one of those dates unavailable to you even though it correctly appears in the calendar count.

Review the week and leave room to rest

A Sunday review can be short: check what is done, choose one priority for the next week and contact anyone whose plans you need to confirm. Keep time for rest or a family activity rather than turning every remaining Sunday into an extra workday.

A Sunday in the list is not necessarily an Advent Sunday. Advent has a specific four-Sunday sequence in Western Christian calendars. If you are planning around that observance, check the Advent page or your congregation’s schedule instead of treating all remaining Sundays as part of Advent.

Why might the number change while you travel?

The live count uses the date in your device timezone. Crossing into another local date can change whether a matching weekday is today or still in the future. The total drops when that date arrives, rather than waiting until its evening has finished. Check the date and timezone together before comparing two devices.

Use complete weeks for seven-day planning blocks and working days when Monday-to-Friday availability is the question.
